RIGA FOOD 2010 is the 15th International Trade Fair For Food Industry, Drinks, Food Processing Technology and Packing International Food Competition. In 2009 more than 550 exhibitors from 35 countries participated in RIGA FOOD, and more than 35 000 visitors were registered.

The aim of this one day course is to train research managers and administrators in writing professional and competitive proposals for the Framework 7 Programme.The course describes the relevance of Framework 7 to EU policies, the common problems in proposal writing and the success criteria for proposals. The course provides tips on how to collect information, how to select strategic partners and how to avoid duplication in proposal writing. The final section describes a strategy for proposal writing. 15/09/2010 - 16/09/2010 Rennes, France. The Enterprise Europe Network in France are hosting a Livestock Brokerage Event in Rennes, France from the 15th to the 16th of September 2010. The brokerage event will take place during Space 2010 which is the essential international show for livestock professionals in every sector: cattle (dairy and beef), pigs, poultry, rabbits, sheep and goats.
At the brokerage event companies will have the opportunity to meet other companies from the sector for face to face pre-arranged meetings with a view to completing technology and business partnerships.

About the Speaker
Susan Hayes is an entrepreneur, economist, media commentator and investor.
She has a BSc (Hons) Financial Maths & Economics and recently passed Level 2 of the CFA designation (Chartered Financial Analyst). She has her own company training people how to generate an income from a stock market portfolio through options. She comments on economic, banking and investment matters regularly on national and regional radio stations as well as forming part of a number of expert groups working with the Department of Education in relation to Economics, Accounting and Business subjects taught up to Leaving Cert. She has introduced "Wall Street to the Classroom" through creating an investing resource for business studies teachers. Finally, she is a successful investor with a particular interest in value stocks and options trading.

The Ambassadors programme is an initiative of the European Commission to highlight and promote women entrepreneurs as a key to economic growth and job creation. 23/09/2010 The Mill Park Hotel, Donegal Town ‘Building a Business on Your Ideas’
The Patents Office, in cooperation with The Enterprise Europe Network, Enterprise Ireland and the County Enterprise Boards have launched a series of one-day seminars, aimed at the ‘small business’ community, entrepreneurs and inventors, on the theme of ‘Building a Business on Your Ideas’.
The seminars will commence on 23rd September 2010 in the Mill Park Hotel, Donegal Town and will run for the following nine months, in cities and towns across the country. Admission to the seminars is free but pre-registration with the local County Enterprise Board is required.
The seminars will focus on:-
how business should be aware of and can exploit the value of Intellectual Property (Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Copyright) and the support structures that are available for small businesses and start-ups from the State and Europe.
Expert speakers from the private sector include a Patent Attorney, a representative from ‘Technology from Ideas’, a representative from the Industry, Research and Development Group and a local entrepreneur. Speakers from the public sector include representatives from the Patents Office, Enterprise Ireland, the County Enterprise Boards and the Enterprise Europe Network. 27/09/2010 Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin 9. Enterprise Europe Network – Ireland are hosting an International Conference & Emerging Technology Networking Event on “Waste to Resource”. This one day conference will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin and is being organised in assocation with Cré, the Composting & Anaerobic Digestion Association of Ireland, InterTradeIreland, and Invest Northern Ireland.
The Conference will focus on trends in waste management practice, in terms of new legislation and business development. There will be parallel sessions to include presentations on specific emerging technologies, case studies, and calls for partners in R&D.
The informal networking sessions will provide opportunities for one-to-one meetings focusing on technology & business partnering. About the Speakers
Kristine Metuzale
Kristine has been working for the last 5 years for the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia’s representative office in the UK advising British and Irish companies on opportunities of doing business in Latvia.She previously gained experience in business development and sales working in major international companies both in Latvia and Germany. Kristine holds a Master's degree in business administration and a post graduate degree in European Business Management.
Michael Bourke
Michael is the former CEO of Rietumu Bank (Latvia’s fourth-largest bank for nine years) and former honorary consul of Ireland to Latvia. Michael retired from Rietumu in 2006 and is now on the board of Latvian bank Parex. In June 2010, Michael was appointed as a Risk Adviser to Ireland's Central Bank.
Having started out in the Irish Central Bank, he has worked with the IMF, advising the Central Bank of Egypt on its debt restructuring back in the 1980s. He ran workshops for the IMF with several central banks of former USSR republics. He was an advisor to the Bank of Lithuania in the early 1990s, before doing work for the Bank of Latvia.
Alan Gilbert
Alan joined Kedco in 2006 as chief operations officer. He is responsible for operations of Vudlande and its explosive growth with limited use of capital, turnover of €8m for the most recent financial year 2009/2010. Before joining Kedco Alan worked for Kerry Group Plc for 9 years mostly in the area of operations in the consumer foods division. Alan has a degree in Agricultural Science from UCD and a Diploma in Business Management from IMI.
