24/03/2010 Mazars, Harcourt Centre, Block 3, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2 The economy in Ireland is experiencing a property led slump that will start to stabilize in 2011,
with some saying that “meaningful recovery” will not return until 2014. Whatever statistics we
look at (and they can be grim!), it is clear that the Irish market is limited in opportunities for construction
professionals in the foreseeable future.
This is the time to consider looking overseas for opportunities. Although the French construction
market may have slowed down somewhat in 2009, there are predictions of further growth in
areas such as social housing, infrastructure, commercial offices and university campuses. There
are significant opportunities for new entrants with innovative service propositions to partner
with the main French players.
Our panel of experts will present the latest trends in the construction sector in France, and discuss
the options that are in this market for Irish-based companies.
- Noel Cunningham, Senior Partner, Mazars will lead a panel of experts on the subject:
- Alain Porcher , French market construction consultant, on behalf of Enterprise Ireland France,
will present an overview of the construction sector in France and outline opportunities
A representative from Bruce Shaw will talk about the experience of Bruce Shaw in leading development
projects in France.
- Sean McElligott of Lynskey Engineering will present the benefits & pitfalls of overseas work in
general, referring to his own experience of leading projects in European countries.
The evening will take the form of short presentations from each of our top experts, followed by a
lively debate and a bonne soirée finish with French wine & canapés. The French wine of the
evening will be presented by Christine Smith of Mackenway Distributors. 24/03/2010 - 25/03/2010 Stuttgart, Germany.
