Have your say in Europe

Did you know that you can contribute towards influencing EU policies and legislation which might affect your business?

In the last few years the European Union has begun to take steps to try to reduce the bureaucracy and red tape which many firms still encounter when doing business in Europe's Single Market.  There are several ways in which your company can make an impact on the decisions that are made in relation to EU legislation and policy:

Register Your Issues

A key role of the Enterprise Europe Network is to try and involve SMEs and business actors in the policy-making process, by transmitting feedback to the Commission and monitoring the implementation of EU policies, particularly in the fields of competitiveness and innovation.

If you have experienced difficulty in accessing information relating to the EU or European legislation, or if your company has experienced problems in carrying out your business in other Member States, then please contact your nearest Enterprise Europe Network office.  We will listen to your issues and if we feel that there is insufficient information or assistance available in relation to your query, then we can log your case directly back to our team in the European Commission.

Public Consultations

When the European Commission is considering bringing in new legislation or updating/amending existing legislation, it will often open up a consultation for the public and key stakeholders.  You can view background documents on the proposed policy changes online and if you would like to contribute your feedback, then you can complete the online questionnaire.  Completion of these questionnaires generally takes about 20-30 minutes.  It is also possible to view the results and follow-up relating to past consultations.   For more on EU consultations see Your Voice in Europe.

European Business Test Panel

If your company would like to take part in regular consultations relating to legislation and initiatives that affect you and your business, then you can register to be part of the European Business Test Panel (EBTP). The EBTP is composed of around 3600 companies of different sizes and sectors located in all EU Member States, that contribute several times a year to the Commission's feedback mechanism by completing online questionnaires.

The Enterprise Europe Network is your direct line for feedback to the European Commission!
