Why should you consider working with research partners to develop your business in Europe?

There are a number of potential benefits in working with other firms or organisations, to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Europe’s Single Market:

• If you wish to access new technologies or processes to develop your business, looking for partners further afield could open up a whole range of new opportunities.  By tapping into the work of Europe’s top class universities and research institutes, as well as other firms working in complementary fields, you could significantly enhance or compliment your own research efforts.

• On the other hand, if you have already invested heavily in new technologies or processes, working with a partner (or partners) in other European countries could open doors for you, enabling you to commercialise and develop your product ideas further.

• In some cases, collaboration with other businesses or organisations in other European countries is essential if you want to tap into funding opportunities.  This is true, for example, of most of the grants offered by the EU for R&D.

Obviously, if you are going to work with partners, it is essential that you find the right ones.  Enterprise Europe Network Ireland will work closely with you, to make sure that you are clear about the type of organisation and / or company you are looking for before you start your search.  And once you have identified a potential partner we will work through our Network and other business support organisations in the region to make sure that you get all the advice and support you need, to make sure any agreements made will work for you.
