In 1998 the Regional Government launched the certification “Handicrafts of the Azores” for products traditionally manufactured in the Region. The Regional Centre of Support to Crafts is responsible for guaranteeing the certification of origin and quality of handmade products, i.e., a seal of guarantee granted by the Secretary of Economy is proof that this is a Certified Quality Proof of Origin Product. The company’s products are certified as Handicrafts of the Azores (of origin and quality). The Azores handmade embroidery is an added value product in the economy of the Region. It is highly admired both locally and internationally.
