6.8 m Euros of funding is available for collaborative R&D projects in ocean energy through the Ocean ERANET project. The Ocean Energy ERA-NET match-making platform has been set up to bring together companies and research organisations to create partnerships to apply to the OCEANERA-NET COFUND Joint Call 2019.
Projects must be transnational, with a minimum of 2 independent partners from 2 different countries. The countries / regions providing funding are Flanders (Belgium), Ireland, Pays de la Loire (France), Portugal, Scotland (Scottish Enterprise), Spain and Sweden
The call topics are: ocean energy devices; components and sub-systems; grid connection and power systems; materials and structures; installation, operations and maintenance; resource and impact assessment. Ocean energy covers wave, tidal, ocean thermal and salinity gradient but potential applicants should check guidance for eligibility in each region.
The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 1st March, full Proposals 5th April 2019.
A webinar has been arranged with Ocean Energy Europe and ETIP Ocean. This is taking place at 10:00 a.m on 14th January. Register here
The webinar will present the objectives of the call and explain the call processes, rules and support available to develop projects, and give an opportunity to ask questions.
