European Commission predicts Ireland’s economy to grow by 3.6% in 2020

In its Winter 2020 Interim Economic Forecast, published today, the European Commission predicts that Ireland’s GDP will grow by 3.6% this year and by 3.2% in 2021. Only two countries are forecast to see faster growth in 2020: Malta (4%) and Romania (3.8%). On average, GDP is expected to grow by 1.4% in the EU and by 1.2% in the Euro Area in 2020 and 2021.

The forecast for Ireland also estimates real GDP to have grown by 5.7% in 2019, the fastest rate in the EU. It states that activities by multinationals remain difficult to predict and could drive headline growth in either direction. Full Article here
